About this project
As part of the new #EU #SECCA project - European Union Support to Sustainable Energy Connectivity in Central Asia (SECCA) Project, in November 2023 we followed up on the previous cooperation on the #EU #WECOOP #Stantec project.
Together with international study groups from Central Asia countries, I participated in a three-week filming session in two countries - in Georgia and in Latvia. In Georgia and Latvia, I have created videos and photographs for the SECCA project that document these study tours.
In Georgia we visited, for example:
Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia,
Georgian State Electrosystem (GSE),
Kartli wind farm
500/400/220kV substation with the high voltage direct current (HVDC) converter station (back-to-back configuration) for power exchange with Turkey
“The mission of the SECCA Project is to promote a more sustainable energy mix in the Central Asia region in line with EU best practices. Energy plays a critical role in solving climate change challenges. Sustainable energy is one of the key solutions to tackle climate change.
Pursuant to the Green Deal, the European Union (EU) Strategy on Central Asia, and the Global Gateway Team Europe Initiative on Water, Energy and Climate Change in Central Asia the EU is committed to support the countries of Central Asia (CA) in their current energy transition efforts by building upon the region’s potential in solar, wind and hydroelectric energy and capability for improving energy efficiency.”
This video was produced with the financial support of the European Union. Its contents are the sole responsibility of the consortium led by Stantec and do not necessarily reflect the views of the European Union.
